Hi!
I’m Anna, a CELTA qualified professional EFL teacher with a bachelors degree in Film and Broadcast Production and a gold medal in speech and drama.
This blog is your gateway to British culture, everyday customs, and practical vocabulary to help you connect and socialise with confidence. But before we dive in, feel free to check out my credentials and see how I can support your language journey (just below the balloon!).

I’ve been teaching English as a foreign language since January 2023, working with learners of all ages, levels, and nationalities. My experience includes General English, Business English, and IELTS preparation—both online and in person, one-to-one and in classroom groups of all sizes.
My first teaching role was a two-week General English course at Bonyhádi Petőfi Sándor Evangélikus Gimnázium in Hungary, where I taught a lively group of intermediate-level 15-year-olds. Around that time, I also began teaching private one-to-one lessons online. I quickly discovered how much I enjoyed helping adult learners build confidence in social settings, especially while travelling. That passion sparked the idea for this blog.
After Hungary, I joined EF Education First in Waterloo, London, where I started with a summer school for elementary-level students. I was later offered—and accepted—a one-year teaching contract. There, too, I noticed a recurring theme: many students wanted to speak English not just for exams or work, but to make connections while exploring the world.
Since leaving EF in October 2024, I’ve been freelancing as a Business English teacher for Marcus Evans Linguarama and Bayswater Education language schools in London, while continuing to work with my private students.
Throughout my teaching journey, one message has stood out: no matter your age or background, learning English is often about something much deeper—connection. Whether it’s for travel, friendship, personal growth, or adventure, English opens the door to a richer, more connected life.
If you’ve stumbled across this blog on your own journey, I hope it helps you take the next step. May it inspire you to follow your dreams, embrace new cultures, and expand your world.

“I really love our English lessons! I appreciate the personal approach. For example, Anna selects tasks in such a way that I can expand my professional vocabulary (media and movie related). I also like that Anna draws my attention not only to grammar, but also to pronunciation.” Gulnaz, 2024
“Excellent conversation, friendly atmosphere, no stress at all.” Wojciech, 2023
